The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Population Affairs recently announced the intended grantees for the Title X family planning service grants for fiscal year 2018.

These grants are expected to be awarded no later than September 1, 2018, cover all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and six Pacific jurisdictions, and support delivery of Title X services in almost 4,000 service sites. Title X service grants are awarded through a competitive process to public and private not-for-profit entities including state and local health departments, hospitals, university health centers, and nonprofit organizations, including community health centers.

Following the competitive application process, the Women’s Health and Family Planning Association of Texas(WHFPT) was chosen as the statewide grant administrator. WHFPT has administered the Title X grant since 2013 and has seen significant progress, increasing the number of clients served annually to nearly 200,000.
