The Texas Women’s Healthcare Coalition will:
- Advocate for restoring funding and improving on historical funding levels for state programs to provide adequate access to preventive care and birth control for low- and moderate-income women in Texas;
- Advocate for policies that assure broad availability of actively participating providers in the Texas Women’s Health Program and other state programs that provide cancer and other health screenings; preconception assessment and counseling; contraception; and other preventive care; and
- Oppose any measures that would impose additional barriers to accessing preventive healthcare, including contraception. This would include opposition to new exemptions to exclude or limit benefits for preventive care or contraceptive drugs and devices. The Coalition will advocate for solutions that assure access to contraceptive coverage, while protecting the religious freedom of employers and employees.
