At TWHC, our mission is to create access to healthcare for all women in Texas.

This recent opinion piece from the Texas Tribune, written by John Henderson, CEO of the Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospitals, highlights the unfortunate fact that many rural hospitals in our state are being closed down due to a declining volume of patients.

We know that this declining volume of patients has a lot to do with the fact that individuals living in rural areas often lack access to health insurance and therefore wouldn’t be able to seek healthcare services at local hospitals due to the high costs associated with that care.

As we approach the upcoming Texas Legislative Session, one of our main priorities will be to advocate for the expansion of programs that can provide coverage to those who need it most.
